The Blog Senator Lincoln Doesn't Want You To Read

This weekend, in between spending some time with friends and family, I flipped over an envelope and wrote out my list of things we will need to defeat Senator Lincoln next November.  I have been mulling these figures over for months, but these are the numbers I finally arrived at.

Three things need to be done and we need your immediate help today:

  1. The Republican Party of Arkansas needs to recruit 5,000 activists from across the state. If the state party can do this and setup a grassroots team in every county, we will have more boots on the ground than the Democrats.  No matter what their voter registration is across the state, this volunteer team will crush the Democrats.
  2. Raise $2,000,000 to supply these volunteers with voter lists, talking points and grassroots literature and run television and radio ads to help highlight Blanche’s record.  She is anti-traditional marriage, spends taxpayer money like it’s going out of style, pro-choice, and the list goes on.  She doesn’t represent the values of Arkansans, and never has.  We need to expose her record.
  3. We need to have someone ask her the same question at every event:  “What is your one moment of true leadership in the Senate, where you stood and fought for an issue that your Democrat colleagues were skeptical of?  An issue where you said this is what’s good for Arkansas and I am going to spend everyday making sure this happens?

I need your help to make this happen.  We cannot do it without you.

Today I’m focused on number two. Will you make a contribution of $25, $50 or $100 or more today to help defeat Senator Lincoln?  Every dollar contributed will help expose her record of tax-and-spend, her failure to secure our borders, and her love of big government at the expense of taxpayers.

Tomorrow I will send you a way to help us with item one on this list, and number three we are working on.

We cannot afford to waste a single day.

Sincerely,

Doyle Webb

    Doyle
I would appreciate your input on this idea for election and finance reform.

    No Guts, No Money!
A Proposal for Local and Federal Campaign Election Reform
    Dale Walker, December 2009

    For State and Local Elections:
    Funding
The Town Hall Meeting Format is funded by election on State income tax return….check contribution of $1, $5, $10, $20 on tax return (or more, based on budgeting) Funds set aside in special fund for Campaign Election Expense Fund.
Funds are available to pay for, or reimburse, State and local candidates for travel expenses to Town Hall sites.
Funds are not available for any other expenses.
Any funds remaining after elections is carried forward to future elections.
    Eligibility
Eligibility for payment or reimbursement is determined by the Arkansas Democrat Party and by the Arkansas Republican Party.
There would be no need for State Parties to raise funds unless the State contribution funding is inadequate.
    Town Hall Meetings
The idea is for the Arkansas Democrat Party and the Arkansas Republican Party to schedule and organize Town Hall meetings throughout the State for election of State Legislators, and local Municipality officials.
Town Hall meetings are required for all candidates to attend as scheduled. Non-attendance would be publicized in the State and local media. The meetings will be publicized at selected locations throughout the State to coincide with locales that are represented by participants in the Town Hall meetings.
Candidates must attend Town Hall meetings and will participate in debates for their office with questions coming from the public attendees at the meeting. No prearranged questions and no advance notice of questions to participating debators.
Print media, radio and television stations will be encouraged to cover the debates live.
Expected results: No election funds from special interests. Limit of $20 (or other) from taxpayers filing Arkansas tax returns. Taxpayers are able to ask their own questions without intimidation so they can form their own opinion about each candidate. No more media placements by special interest groups or Party affiliations.
The result of the process should be an informed taxpayer voter base with an opportunity to see how candidates perform without prepared questions and answers.
This format could be done on a national level as well. National debates without prepared questions and answers in State-run debates for President and Vice-President, funded like State elections.

Blanche needs one of the first ones to go. I don't believe she thinks we can get her out of office. Vic Sydner is the same way. They both are very arrogant, and don't believe they can be beat. I say we can, and I plan to support the GOP to help them do it.

Fantastic! Consider my boots on the ground. I live in Washington Co. I was looking through "events" and found nothing going on here at all. Let's change that. I have lived in Arkansas over 3 years now and am ready to make a mark.
