Sen. Lincoln, Will you Listen to the People of Arkansas?

As I watched the President’s speech last night, I wondered will Sen. Lincoln be led like a lamb by the President or will she listen to the people of Arkansas?  Will she oppose the public option that the President supports?  Or will she flip-flop again and follow along behind the President?

Unfortunately, Sen. Lincoln has a history of caving in to the pressure exerted by powerful politicians.  It would be nice if just once she would show her constituents some leadership.  The people of Arkansas have spoken loud and clear.  They want a leader in Washington, a Senator who will do what they elected her to do.  They do not want  government-run health care.  Like most Americans, Arkansans do not want government bureaucrats making their health care decisions.

Arkansans have listened to the President say the time for debate is over and that the time for action is here.  Well, the President needs to come to Arkansas and listen to the people.  They will tell him they don’t want another speech, they want another plan. Arkansans want to start from scratch and build a common sense, bi-partisan bill.  They want to start over and get it right.

Sen. Lincoln, tell the President you don’t support the public option.  Show your constituents you will stand up for them and not bow to the pressure of the president.  I urge you to honor your commitment you made to the people you represent.

I've lived in this beautiful state for 2 1/2 years and love it & it's people. I've also come to the conclusion that Arkansas has a senator that is about as useless as a "tit on a bore hog". She not only will suffer severe nose damage should this yoyo that occupies the White House stop abruptly but you & I will have to pay for her medical expenses.
We have come to that infamous "T" in the road and as I look left all I see is a cloud bank that I can't see through. I look right and I see a cadre of my fellow Americans that want to correct the mistakes that this socialist communist muslim has made and Lincoln has stood by and approved. Run her butt back where she came from. It sure would be nice to strip her of her "unearned" retirement benefits.

Here is Lincoln's latest! This is from E-mail updates I receive from her office.

"Earlier today, I unveiled my plan to cut the current $1 million tax shelter for insurance companies’ executive compensation. Current law allows businesses to deduct up to $1 million annually per executive as a business expense. My proposal would limit this amount to $400,000—the President’s salary—for health insurance companies that will profit as a result of health insurance reform."

The whole thing can be found on her website if you care to read more. Pretty socialistic if you ask me. Oh, or is it Obamalistic? Is that a new word?

Just show's that she is trying to dress up the bill to make it more palatable. Blast her, I did.

So, who are we gonna replace her with next year? LOL

Has anyone taken notice that the Congress just voted themselves another raise!!! These people work for us !!! and I am not giving any raises.
This makes the 3rd raise since all the money troubles in the US. We the people of Arkansas should be voting them a raise if they do a good job , frankly they have not done.
No one is listening to the people of AR. At least read the Health Care Bill before voting on it . What is the rush? Elections can't get here soon enough for me .
    thanks

On Sept. 30th three amendments were presented to the Finance Committee for inclusion in the Health Care Reform Bill. Amendment One, called for no tax payer funded abortions. It failed by one vote. Sen. Lincoln voted No. She called it unneccessary due to the Hyde Amendment. However, that amendment is part of another piece of Legislation and must be renewed each year. Should it be allowed to expire abortions could be funded. Amendment Two, said health care providers could not be compelled to perform abortions if it violated their concious. Again Sen. Lincoln voted No narrowly defeating the amendment and violating the First Amendment: Congress shall not enact any law prohibiting the free exercise of relition. Amendment Three: Verification of citizenship status in order to receive govt. benefits. This negates the promises Lincoln made at the town hall meetings. Once again she has failed to represent the voice of Arkansas and she must go!!!

    Peggy and Virginia,
I like how you have tried to pass yourselves off as Republicans. Your comments have clearly proved you are not. Calling for Joe Wilson's resignation is really beyond the pale. Did you call for Harry Reid to resign when he called Bush a loser and a liar and when he said the Iraq war was lost? You most surely did NOT. And piling on Doyle Webb when you clearly do NOT know the whole story is really beneath contempt as well. Perhaps you would find open arms over at the Arkansas Democrat Party website....where you belong in the first place.

In responce to Peggy's comment about Joe Wilson's resignation. I agree the comment he made was disrespectful, and the appology made to the President was in order. However, calling for the resignation of Joe Wison for getting caught up in the moment is absolutely over the top. President Obama has been over exagerating, mis-representing the truth, and mis-leading the public ever since he crawled out of his hole in Chicago. Therefore, at least what Joe Wison said was the truth even though it wasn't the place or time to say it. All he did was verbalize what most intelligent people in this country were already thinking. If such an outburst calls for a resignation, then I suggest we start with the Democrats that called G. Bush a lier over the Iraq War, and Booed him during the State of the Union Address. I frankly am sick and tired of the double standards in DC that the American Public seems to think is the way to do business. Just because we have come to expect such behavior from the left wing radicals, it doesn't mean its right. If you're going to call for Joe Wilson's resigination, you had better put him on the bottom of a very long list.

I am truly concerned about our Democrat congrespersons but right now I am more concerned about Doyle Webb heading the Republican Party of Arkansas. He obviously cannot handle his own finances , so he should not be handling the finances of the republican party of Arkansas. If this is not taken care of immediately, don't send anymore requests for donations to me....

I have never written a letter like this before in my life, but after the infintile episode of Rep.Joe Wilson during our Presidents speech this past Wednesday night I feel if is my duty as a citizen to speak up. It would do well for all legislatures to take a lesson from the school children across our great nation as they listion to the same President in his speech to them on Tuesday. They were respectful and did not shout insults. If the Republican Party does not bring sanctions against this idiot of some public sort you are making a grave mistake. You are setting a tremendously bad example for the young people of our country. No matter whether you agree with the President or not, he is the President of the greatest nation on this earth and as such demands respect. I, personally, think that Joe Wilson should be asked to resign, as I don't think he is fit to make dicisions that effect our country. I sure wouldn't want him as a representative from my state. Maybe he should be made to go around the country to all the schools like we do drunks that drive and kill someone and speak at schools and explain what an idiot he is and how stupid his actions were. But most of all I think he should be made to publicly apologize to President and Mrs Obama, as it was an insult to her as well. And I further think it should be done in front of a joint session of congress just like he shouted his insult.

I see where Lincoln has been "given" the chairmanship of the powerful Agriculture Committee. Wonder why that happened? Could it be because we have lots of farmers in AR? I sure wish the farmers would wake up on Lincoln and Berry.

Senator Lincoln will do as she is told to do by her party leadership. Like many in the beltway, she is confident that come election time we will have forgotten her offenses. Sad thing is that she is probably correct and find herself coronated once again.

With approval ratings dropping almost as fast as Obama's this person should fastidiously consider any further consequences that could put her in any more jeopardy than she is already in. With a worthy political opponent running against her in 2010 she should be carefully listening to and abiding by her constituent's wishes. But unfortunate for her it seems as if it's too little too late.
